At Taylor’s Residence, the R!SE Residential Living Program is designed to help students settle comfortably into their new living and learning environment. Built around a structured journey, the program nurtures every aspect of well-being: Physical, Emotional, Social, and Intellectual - guiding residents from their first day towards feeling truly at home and empowered to thrive.

As part of this holistic journey, our residents have been actively engaging in activities under each well-being pillar.
Here’s a glimpse into the meaningful experiences that have shaped their living journey so far.

PHYSICAL WELL-BEING

Fuel Your Brain, Break The Stress!

Physical Well-bring - Brain Boosting Snacks for Exam Stress

Exams can be stressful, but a little care can make all the difference. To help residents stay focused and energized, we distributed Brain Booster snack packs filled with thoughtful treats from healthy bites to calming goodies, all designed to refresh the mind and lift the spirit.
It was a cheerful morning of smiles and encouragement as residents took a well-deserved pause before diving back into their studies. Sometimes, it’s these small gestures that remind us – support and community go hand in hand in every success.

MENTAL WELL-BEING

Stick With It Workshop

Emotional Well-bring - Stick with it Workshop

Facilitated by postgraduate students from the School of Liberal Arts & Sciences, this workshop explored habit formation, time management, and self-motivation. It encouraged residents to make small, meaningful changes in their routines, proving that little habits can create lasting impact.

Pause & Reflect: Knowing Myself

Emotional Well-being - Pause & Reflect Workshop

In collaboration with Pusat Pakar Psikologi Jiwadamai, residents embarked on a reflective journey to better understand themselves. Through guided activities, participants identified their personal values, self-care practices, and inner compass – a symbolic exercise in leading themselves with awareness and intention.

SOCIAL WELL-BEING

Board Game Night

Social Well-being - Board Game Night

Friendly competition filled the air as residents teamed up for a lively evening of board games, snacks, and prizes. Beyond the fun and strategy, it was a simple yet meaningful opportunity to unwind, connect, and strengthen community spirit.

World Friendship Day Celebration

Social Well-being - World Friendship Day

Friendship took centre stage as residents came together to celebrate the connections that make Taylor’s Residence feel like home. With creative craft booths and heartfelt exchanges, the event spread kindness, appreciation, and joy throughout the community.

A Tour in Chinatown

Social Well-being - Tour in Chinatown

Residents explored the vibrant streets of Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown, discovering culture, food, and history in every corner. The tour offered a chance to experience Malaysian heritage firsthand while creating shared memories that brought the community even closer.

Go Green Awareness Day

Social Well-bring - Orientation & Go Green Awareness Day

Sustainability met community action during our Go Green Awareness Launch Day. In collaboration with LaunchPad 2.0 and Secret Recipe, residents joined fabric collection drives, learned about composting, and discovered ways to make everyday living more environmentally conscious. The initiative reminded everyone that small actions can lead to meaningful change.

Malaysia Day Celebration

Social Well-being - Malaysia Day Celebration

Residents came together to honour Malaysia’s journey of unity and independence through an evening of learning, cultural appreciation, and shared experiences. The celebration featured local cuisines and ended with a screening of Talentime, a Malaysian film that perfectly captured the nation’s spirit of diversity and togetherness.

INTELLECTUAL WELL-BEING

LeadTech Immersion: Elevate Your Leadership with VR & AR

Intellectual Well-being - LeadTech Immersion

A select group of student leaders participated in LeadTech Immersion, a hands-on leadership session exploring teamwork and inclusivity through virtual and augmented reality experiences.
The program encouraged residents to reflect on leadership values, adaptability, and collaboration in digital environments, skills that are increasingly vital for the future workplace.

Legal Lingo: Navigating Basic Law in Malaysia

Intellectual Well-being - Legal Lingo

Residents attended an insightful session led by Mr. Nakeeran Kumar, a Taylor’s School of Law alumnus and practicing lawyer.
The session provided practical knowledge on everyday legal matters, such as understanding agreements, contracts, and rights, making legal concepts accessible and relevant to students. It was an empowering experience that promoted awareness and responsibility in their daily decisions.

Visit to Google Malaysia Headquarters

Intellectual Well-being - Visit to Google Malaysia HQ

Residents had an exclusive opportunity to visit the Google Malaysia Headquarters, where they were introduced to emerging AI technologies such as NotebookLM, Google’s AI-powered research assistant.
The visit offered valuable insights into the company’s innovation culture, career pathways, and the global impact of technology. It was a meaningful experience that broadened perspectives and inspired residents to embrace learning beyond the classroom.

Speak Easy: Master Conversational English

Intellectual Well-being - Speak Easy: Mastering English Language

Through the Speak Easy program, residents participated in a six-week journey to strengthen their English communication skills.
